I heard he was outraged by the fact that Basil always had some bloke's hand up his arse.
Very straight laced is Rodney.

I saw Rodney at a Manfreds concert at Shepherds Bush Empire about 15 years ago. He was a sad figure then wheeled (not literally) on stage as the band sang the theme to Whatever Happened....as it was written by one of the band.
He was happily married with triplets and sad to see his wife died recently and he now looks very old ... Which of course he is.
The Bolam fall out certainly started with an interview he gave in the mid 1970s which Bewes felt was a misunderstanding. It was much later that money was linked as a reason and really only about Bolam not being prepared to agree to a DVD with Bewes needing the money. Clearly Bolam is a much more successful actor and does not rely on Likely Lads for money or fame.
Sad ... But there are others like him from 1970s ... Such as Richard O'Sullivan but at least they lived (unlike the likes of Robin Nedwell)

His wife died following a stroke six months ago. Poor old Rodders.

Will always remember the kids climbing through the window of the derelict house on the opening credits.
Childhood memories!

That was a good show - genuinely funny and well written
Could see mileage in a new show with the old fuckers reflecting - wont happen as the modern viewer needs a red button to vote for some kind of cuntstick parading badly

Have heard that James Bolam is famously miserable so it wasn't a one off.
The feud is depending on the source because Bewes spoke to the press about the impending fatherhood of the very private Bolam ..... or that Bewes became a bit of a piss head with the Likely Lads success and was poorly prepared when filming which annoyed Bolam. I think Bolam vetoed repeats of Likely Lads which obviously affected the less successful Bewes.
Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads? is one of the GREAT British comedy shows.

Haven't seen Bewes on the telly for time, Bolam on the other hand is a busy cunt. Didn't the two have a falling out decades ago and haven't spoken to each other since?
